There has yet to be a dish that we’ve enjoyed at Poor Italian that doesn’t make you want to close your eyes, sink a little deeper into your chair and let out a genuine mmmmmmmm. Our server was so great this evening, a perfect balance between the amount of attention and allowing our evening to flow uninterrupted.
Thank you Vancouver for voting for us and making The Poor Italian an Opentable Diners’ choice award winner for the second year in a row!

“We enjoyed a lovely linguine dish with crab in a very light and airy lemon sauce as well as the chef’s meat platter, delicious ravioli, and a generous order of tagliatelle (which I had to sample numerous times!)
Looking forward to many more visits.”
“Food was delicious and the price was fair. Staff was attentive. I would recommend and return! Make sure you ask which pasta’s are homemade! Poor Italian has become our family favourite restaurant—-we love the food of course–the staff are great—We are never concerned when we bring our grandbaby—-All & all we have nothing but praises for food – service * warm * inviting staff.”
“The restaurant has great atmosphere, very comfortable, and the service was attentive, but not hovering. The wine selection was extensive with a selection of 1/2 bottle wines. The food courses were delivered at the appropriate intervals, and presentations were very good. We have been to Poor Italian many times now, and are always so happy with the excellent food and wonderful service. It is truly one of my favourite restaurants.”
“This restaurant was one of the great surprise finds this summer. The location is unusual but is easily accessible either by vehicle or transit. There is valet parking on Friday and Saturday for a nominal sum which is perfect considering the small parking lot.
The food is wonderfully prepared and presented. The staff have all been very well trained and are familiar with both the menu and the wine list (which is heavily weighted to Italian wines which is great to see).”
“I have been several times during the past month with different groups of people and have always had a wonderful dining experience.”

We were really impressed with the new spring menu. I liked the panzanella salad with the bread and that marvelous burrata cheese (my new favorite cheese!) My husband and our friends really liked the antipasto platter. The waitress was very professional and had a good knowledge of the food. She was friendly and had our drinks on the table a few minutes after we ordered. The place was busy but not too slammed. The food was just great. I would definitely recommend it!”
Celebrated our anniversary with some close friends and family. We were absolutely delighted with the evening from start to finish.
The attention to detail was impressive. The food was fantastic. They let us take our time and enjoy ourselves. Thanks to Connie and her staff for making sure we had an excellent time and that nothing was amiss. Their wine guy, Gianfranco’s wine suggestions were an amazing addition to our night”We have been featured at vancouverfoodster!
